IIFT 2019: Admit Card, Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Preparation Tips

IIFT 2019 – IIFT Exam is going to be conducted on 2nd December, 2018. The national-level entrance exam, IIFT entrance exam is organised by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), so that aspiring candidates can take admission in the MBA programmes at the institute’s Delhi and Kolkata campus. The questions in the test will be objective type, which will carry around 114 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The total duration of the test will be two hours. The last year’s test was conducted in offline mode, which means the candidates had to take the test in paper and pencil mode. However, this year it is going to be different as it has been hinted by the Director of the institute, Prof. Manoj Pant, the test might be conducted in online (computer-based) mode. The exam is expected to be held in over 20 cities across the country.

Candidates, who take the exam and qualify it successfully, will be able to pursue two-year fully-residential MBA in International Business (IB) programme at IIFT. The factors based on which the final selection will be done include Entrance test score, Group Discussion (GD), Writing Skill Assessment and Personal Interview. The registration process has been to started from 7th August , 2018 and will continue till 14th September, 2019.

IIFT 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria is the foremost thing that the candidates should check even before they apply for the test. Here is the list of some of the eligibility criteria mentioned that every candidate must be aware of.

  • Candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s Degree with the duration of minimum three years from an accredited university.
  • Students in their final year of graduation also may apply for IIFT 2019. However, they would be required to submit proof of the particular semester.
  • As the age limit is concerned, there is no specific age limit for candidates to take the IIFT 2019.
  • International students/Foreign Nationals/NRI Candidates/Children of NRIs may also apply provided they have a valid GMAT score only.

 

IIFT 2019 Application Form

The IIFT application form 2019 is going to be available from the 7th August, 2018. The form will be available till 14th September, 2018. Candidates will be able to fill up the application form in both online or offline mode. It is advised to the candidates that they fill up the form correctly with proper details like personal, academic and contact information.

Online Mode: Candidates, who fill up and submit the IIFT application form online, may pay the application fee through debit/credit or net banking. For the General category candidates, the application fee is Rs. 1650 and SC/ST and Physically handicapped candidates will have to pay Rs. 825.

Offline Mode: Those who are applying for the test through offline mode, can purchase the prospectus from IIFT admission office. Candidates can easily fill up the application form attached with the prospectus and send it to the official IIFT address, mentioned herein below:

IIFT 2019 Exam Pattern

  • There will be around 114 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), which will be divided into six sections.
  • There will be four options for each question. Out of the four options, candidates will have to choose one option. Marking scheme for each of the section would vary from one another.
  • The total duration of the test will be two hours.

The official exam pattern is yet to be released. However, candidates can get an idea of the exam pattern from the table mentioned below.

Marking Scheme:  So far the marking scheme is concerned; marking structure for each of the section will be different. For every incorrect answer, a certain marks will be deducted from the total score of the candidates. Therefore, candidates are required to be sure about the answer they are going to choose for every question.

 

IIFT 2019 Syllabus

Logical Ability: Candidates will find a section of logical reasoning in the exam paper. Based on the last year’s question paper, the complexity level could be high.

Quantitative Ability: This section is designed for testing the ability of the candidates to solve mathematical equations on topics such as number series, profit and loss, averages and mixtures, to name a few.

Verbal Ability: Candidates will be able to answer the questions which are based on grammar, vocabulary, comprehension skills, syllogisms, antonyms and amongst others.

General Awareness: In order to score high in this particular section of IIFT 2019, candidates are needed to be updated with the current affairs, the stock market, economic and political news, general knowledge. To solve the questions properly in this section they will have to go through daily newspapers as well as G.K books.

 

IIFT 2019 Preparation Tips

  • Candidates, who are going to take the exam of IIFT 2019, must make it sure that they solve at least two to three years of sample question papers. This will give them an idea of what to expect in the exam.
  • They need to know the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam.
  • They are also required to understand the exam pattern as it will help them to understand how much of time they should spare for each of the section.

 

IIFT 2019 Admit Card

Candidates will be able to download the admit card only after they fill up the application form and pay the application fee. They will be able to find the application form on the official site of IIFT from the 16th of November, 2018. Candidates must know that admit card is a mandatory document that every candidate needs to carry to the examination hall in order to take the exam of IIFT 2019. Anybody who loses it or simply forgets to carry it to the test centre will not be allowed to take the exam. Along with the admit card, they will also have to carry one of these documents: Passport, Election I-Card, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License and College I-Card for appearing in the test.

 

IIFT 2019 Exam Centres

IIFT 2019 is going to be conducted in 20 cities across the country. While filling up the application form, candidates will get the scope to choose the test centre that suits their convenience. However, IIFT may change the test centre in case it is required. Candidates would be allowed to change their preferred test centre by the 5th of November, 2018. They would have to pay a fee amount of Rs.1000 to make changes in the exam centre. This year’s expected exam centres are mentioned herein below:

IIFT 2019 Analysis

As the exam would be held in the first week of December, 2018, the test will be analysed by experts from various coaching institutes. With the help of this analysis, candidates will get an idea of the overall complexity level of the test and also it will enable them to calculate their approximate score.

 

IIFT 2019 Answer Key

After the IIFT exam is held in December, 2018, the answer key will be made available for the candidates. The answer key will be released by many of the MBA coaching institutes. With the help of the answer key, candidates will be able to calculate their estimated score. This way they will also get the chance to take proper preparation for further rounds which will include Personal Interview, Written Ability Test or Group Discussion.

 

IIFT 2019 Result

The IIFT 2019 result will be declared in the first week of January, 2019. Candidates can visit the official website of IIFT to download their result, which will be available to them in the form of scorecard. Once the result is declared, the selection procedure will commence. The candidates, who will be shortlisted, will have to appear for further rounds, which will include for PI, WAT and GD rounds. According to previous year’s data, more than 1500 candidates were chosen for the next selection rounds.

 

IIFT 2019 Cut off

The institute will declare the cut-off marks along with the result. The cut-off marks will be included in the scorecard category-wise out of total 100 marks. Last year, the cut-off score for the candidates coming under General category was 35.50. Candidates, who qualify the cut-off marks will be shortlisted for the further rounds. IIFT 2019 Selection Procedure

The IIFT 2019 selection procedure will commence right after the results are declared. In the first step, the candidates will be shortlisted based on their IIFT scores. Those who will be shortlisted, will be called for further rounds including essay writing, interview rounds and group discussion, to name a few. The expected time of the selection procedure to start is January-February, 2019. The selection procedure will be conducted in major cities such as Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai.
